Back in 2012 Behance, the worldwide community of creative professionals, launched its Portfolio Review Week initiative. Designed to foster greater visibility and collaboration amongst its membership the initiative offers creatives the opportunity to get together and have their portfolios reviewed by local professionals.
The initiative reached Cambridge in November 2013 and Onespacemedia’s James Cotton and James Dellar were invited to join an expert review panel (including local creative heavyweights Nick Welsh and Philip Pepper) to provide insight and feedback for local Behance members. Organised by Jack Stewart and hosted by CamCreative the Cambridge event attracted a diverse range of creative professionals who wanted to put their work under the microscope of industry professionals.
The panel reviewed work from children’s book illustrators to web designers in a constructive, open forum which sparked some fascinating debates and gave individual designers the chance to take their work to the next level. The evening was hugely successful leaving members inspired and motivated.
Onespacemedia’s founder, James Cotton, said “Bringing together the creative communities and fostering an open-minded approach to creative development is of huge benefit to the industry as a whole, not just the individuals involved. Behance has brought this approach to the masses, nurturing creative talent across the world. It’s a pleasure to be involved in such an exciting community.”
