50 years of innovation and enterprise

Cambridge ideas are still changing the world. The rise and impact of the Cambridge technology cluster is charted in an exciting new book The Cambridge Phenomenon 50 Years of Innovation and Enterprise. In an ambitious initiative by Cambridge Phenomenon Ltd, authors Charles Cotton and Kate Kirk unravel the complex interplay between academia, high tech businesses, finance and government.

An integrated approach

Onespacemedia was tasked with creating a range of strategies that raised funds for the production of the book, boosted pre sales and ensured ongoing visibility post-launch. As well as masterminding a novel corporate sponsorship model that covered the costs of production we created a range of print, web and video collateral to promote the book.

CMS-powered web marketing

We created a CMS-driven website for Cambridge Phenomenon to promote the book and provide information on past and future initiatives. The website shows all of the people and partners involved in Cambridge Phenomenon initiatives and allows users to access a range of rich, multimedia resources such as videos and downloadable pdfs. The site also aggregates all of Cambridge Phenomenon’s news and social media content.

Wide-spread press attention

The Cambridge Phenomenon 50 Years of Innovation and Enterprise received was launched to wide-spread acclaim and generated significant press coverage across traditional press and local TV and radio. Press coverage and TV and radio spots are available for viewing on the website.

Gala launch event

The launch of the book took place at The University of Cambridge's Sente House in May 2012 and was attended by over 300 representatives of The Cambridge Phenomenon - past, present and future. Featuring speeches from University Vice-Chancellor Sir Leszek Borysiewicz and author and project mastermind Charles Cotton the event was a huge success and boosted the visibility of the book ensuring sales figures remained vibrant many months after launch.

"The work of the Onespacemedia team has been exceptional. Their creative flair and understanding of a wide range of design, technical and promotional techniques has generated highly successful and multi-channel marketing approach that has dramatically enhanced this project's visibility and generated higher sales."
