We worked with Edinburgh-based young people’s charity Venture Trust to revamp their online presence and boost brand credibility with a new website and content management system.
On-brand design
Venture Trust works for young people in partnership with organisations such as the Prince’s Trust and receives funding from organisations including the Scottish Government. The finished website had to appeal to a diverse range of audiences so the look and feel were crucial to its success.
Venture Trust had previously worked with a local graphic designer to create vector art that represents both the urban and wilderness aspects of their work. The artwork has a youthful and edgy feel and adorns their marketing literature, signage and vehicles. Brand consistency was essential so outré design time worked the graphics into the fabric of the website. We added large, evocative images of their work in the Scottish highlands to counter balance the urban styling.
Consistent information delivery
During the discovery phase we identified that Venture Trust needed a robust way to deliver programme information to potential beneficiaries, referral partners and funders in a consistent format. It was important to cross-link programmes and organisations as well as associate case studies. We built databases for the programme section and partner organisations and formulated a system that allows Venture Trust staff to relate news articles, case studies, programmes and organisations to each other in a symmetrical data model.
Content management and third-party integration
We powered the entire site with our state of the art content management system, added a powerful search facility, added news and case study modules and plugged in a leads database. We also linked to Virgin’s online donation platform so that site visitors can make online donations quickly and easily without Venture Trust having the expense of building a bespoke donation platform.
We really enjoyed working with Venture Trust and are excited that the new website is delivering results for such a worthwhile and essential cause.
