Pioneering disruptive technology conference Nerve approached Onespacemedia to create a look and feel for their new brand, deliver a cutting edge website to promote their 2013 event and generate ticket sales.
Founded in 2007 CRFS has developed a revolutionary new type of radio receiver designed specifically for continuous remote real-time monitoring and surveillance of the radio spectrum. The company is expanding rapidly and needed a new website to better communicate their products and services to their market. They also wanted to provide a variety of time-saving tools for both CRFS staff and their customers.
Product management made simple
CRFS needed a straight forward way to manage their product catalogue. We responded by building a custom module into our content management system that allows CRFS staff to upload images, product descriptions, videos, key feature lists and downloadable data sheets. Products can be related to each other symmetrically enabling users to explore related products in as few clicks as possible. We extended the module with a feature that allows mini product advertising to be quickly added to the side bars of content pages. We completed the product module with a form-based enquiry system that records potential client details and information on the products they are interested in.
Streamlining customer download management
Customers of CRFS are supplied with periodic software updates for their products. Historically the company handled these updates manually, repeating the same procedure to deliver large files to their customers. To streamline this process for both clients and CRFS staff alike we built a user and file management system that allows CRFS to define customer users, upload files and then assign those files to one or more customers. The customers are automatically notified of any new available files and from there they can login to their secure customer area and download the necessary files.
Technical, grid based design
We based the site design on a 16-column grid and used lots of white space, sans-serif typography and bold navigation elements to balance the design and content. We built a showcase and action box module into the home page that allows CRFS to highlight key products and company information. We completed the home page design with a news scroller to higlight the latest company news. Other functionality including search, automatic generation of RSS feeds and a newsletter signup completed the website.
